Even before moving to London, I absolutely adored sweet and sour dishes. Mind you, it was not the same for everyone and when I cooked some, my guests usually left their plates half eaten :(. Nowadays, our palate definitely changed and when I proposed sweet and sour recipes, the plates is definitely empty for my great pleasure. The banana and coconut filet mignon is loved by all and I hope by you as well!

I have eaten this salad with one of my good friend in London before she moved to Geneva. She had invited us around a gargantuesque brunch and the salad was just in front of me. I tasted it with the yummy scrambled eggs prepared by her husband and it was what I call a "perfect" salad : light, fresh, healthy and tasty. I obviously asked for the recipe and reproduced it. Since then, I make this gorgeous dish in a regular basis... Enjoy!

In summer or winter, at any French buffet table, you will always find (at 99% of course), a taboule. This Levantine salad is normally realized with a full bunch of parsley, bulgur, tomatoes, olive oil and lemon juice. It had been transformed in France with couscous instead. You then add fresh mint, onions, cucumber.... Obviously, every family possess its own recipe and may changed it slightly... I have proposed a quinoa version because I ran out of couscous (it's as simple as that...). I thought the aniseed flavor of the quinoa put a nice touch to this very easy-peasy dish...




Wine pairing : Menetou-Salon (Rosé) from the Loire-Valley.

Once in the South of France, I did a "tarte Normande" a specialty from Normandy with apple and yummy crème fraîche (soon on the blog...). It was a little bit hot this day so I decided to serve it with a cinnamon ice-cream. So I went for the easy way : to buy it. But my bakery did not have this flavor neither Mr P . And because I wanted to serve my tarte with a cinnamon ice-cream, cinnamon ice-cream I will have!!! So I decided to make it myself following my mustard ice-cream recipe (here). For me, this dessert is nearly perfect : the cinnamon is not too strong, well balanced. A delicate and subtle taste which melt in your mouth... Please enjoy it on its own or with a lovely apple pie...

I love the rhythm in Spring : the food I prepare is so much lighter, especially with a granite... Easy and so refreshing, it finished perfectly well the end of a good supper. The best I have eaten were in the extraordinary town of Romulus and in Sicily, it was served for breakfast! I did the tuiles because in my opinion, you need a little bit of food to go with the granite. Those honey treats are a match made in heaven...

Not easy to propose a dessert sometimes : between the fruit salads and the cakes you may think that you are laking of originality... Those panna cotta are your answer, easy and tasty, they will ravish your palate. You can as well change endlessly the flavor if you are not too keen on apricot or basil. ;) The choice is yours.



Wine pairing : Muscat du Cap Corse (Sweet white) from Corsica.
