SWEET POTATOES, COCONUT, TURMERIC AND GINGER POTAGE
(Potage de patates douces, noix de coco, gingembre et curcuma)

The kind of potage we are all looking for after a long christmas holiday where we ate a little bit too much! The velvety texture of the coconut is terribly yummy after being awaken by the ginger little kick. This potage will soon become a classic at your table!

Wine pairing : Côtes du Lot (White) from the South West.

Between you and I, this dish could be named "Thank God, I know what I am going to cook tonight!!!", especially when the children are terribly hunnnnnnnngry after a long day at school! Easy, balanced and delicious, this recipe has everything for itself. Weeks ago, I had some leftovers  when my daughter's best friend stayed for supper with us. I reheated one plate for her and she though that it came from a Chinese takeaway!!! It says it all!!! ;)

ROQUEFORT AND APPLE CAKE (Cake pommes et roquefort)

ROQUEFORT AND APPLE CAKE
(Cake pommes et roquefort)

Hou la la, please find my roquefort and apple cake to celebrate this beautiful New Year 2018! This wonderful recipe could be a nice touch to any lunch, dinner or buffet. I think I may baked one every month : for my children, for my friends, for the friends of my friends... It is absolutely delicious...
Roquefort is made in the Midi-Pyrénées (France), from raw sheep milk. The first mention of Roquefort appeared in Carolingian time around 1070 ! Charlemagne loved it and Diderot awarded it as the "king of cheeses". Enjoy!

Wine pairing : Bonnezeaux (Red) from The Loire Valley.

MEDIEVAL HYPOCRAS (Vin médiéval Hypocras)

MEDIEVAL HYPOCRAS
(Vin médiéval Hypocras)

The legend says that the invention of Hypocras comes from the Greek physician Hippocrates (fifth century BC). The first recipe of Hypocras was written in English by Edward Lord Stafford, chef of King Richard II and presented to Queen ELIZABETH in 1390. The drink was very popular throughout the Middle Ages, often prescribed by doctors to digest… I simply adore this beverage. It emanates from it a lovely and nice christmassy vibration. You can gently reheat it if you wish but it is traditionally enjoyed chilled ! Drink aware of course !!!

Yummy yummy! I completely adore this easy-peasy-chic fruit salad which smells deliciously Christmas... You need basically nothing and it brings an absolute delight dessert at the end of a meal. It is one of the fruit salad loved by both side of the Manche which is really important to mention! Do not put Grand Marnier if you don't fancy it but it add a little oumphf if you know what I mean... ;)
